During his stay in Seillans, Simpson made many pastel and mixed media drawings. Every day would begin with several small frottage rubbings
                    made from elements of ornamentation found in the Salle du Couvent, on the door of the Espace Waldberg where Patrick Waldberg lived
                    and even on the walls of La Dolce Vita, the former house of Max Ernst and Dorothea Tanning.
