A New Arcadia
Works inspired by visits to Provence and the Cote d'Azur, where the light has been a factor
in the art of Cezanne, Van Gogh, Matisse and Picasso. Simpson began visiting the region in the 1990's
eventually creating many series of canvases and pastels which evoke this colourful part of France.
